Canyon Brewing is thrilled to announce our upcoming Fresh Hop Showcase, scheduled for Saturday, April 20. This eagerly anticipated event heralds the arrival of the annual fresh hop season, where breweries across New Zealand unleash their most innovative creations.
In a time where economic pressures weigh heavily on businesses and breweries are sadly bidding farewell all over the country, Canyon Brewing remains steadfast in our commitment to supporting local New Zealand breweries. We recognise the importance of nurturing our craft beer community, ensuring its vibrancy and resilience.
Join us for an afternoon of beer tasting and live music as we highlight the finest fresh hop brews our country has to offer. We've carefully curated a selection of 11 fresh hop beers on tap, showcasing a diverse array of styles and flavours. Whether you prefer a tasting paddle to taste your way through the menu, or indulge in a pint or two, there is something to delight every palate.
We are honoured to feature esteemed breweries from across the nation, including Parrotdog, Double Vision, Beer Baroness, 8 Wired, McLeod’s, Urbanaut and Pacific Coast. Their dedication to craftsmanship and quality exemplifies the spirit of our local brewing community.
Additionally, our chefs have prepared a hop braised lamb pizza, sourced from lambs that have grazed on the very Garston hops we used to craft our two fresh hop beers. For attendees seeking an alternative to beer, we're excited to offer the 'Bong Bong' fresh hop cocktail, made with hop syrup derived from the hops grown at Canyon Restaurant.
